Declare a Minor
Things to consider:
- While a minor can enhance a student’s educational experience, it must be well-planned to ensure the student graduates in a timely manner.
- Students who desire a minor should declare it before completing 90 BYU credits; otherwise, they may need to petition to add the minor.
- Some minors need to be pre-approved, or an application reviewed, before students may declare them. See program info for more information.
- Some departments/schools do not allow students to major and minor in the same department/school.
- For College of Fine Arts and Communications (CFAC) minors, substitutions and transfer equivalencies will be evaluated when you declare the minor.
